My website address is: www.familybalanceblog.com.

I am, Dana Jesiolowski, and I am the creator, designer, and author of the familyBalance blog.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it:

Email List Subscribers:

The number one thing that I collect on my site is email addresses. However, I do not collect them without the email users consent. To build and maintain my email list and deliver emails to that list I use the email service provider MailChimp. The information I collect as part of my email list subscription process is shared with only this service provider. Here is their privacy policy.

Each person who visits my site is invited to join and benefit from being on my email list. If a person decides they want to be on my email list they can sign up and confirm their desire to do so through my email opt-in process.

If a person decides they no longer wish to be a part of my email list they can unsubscribe at any time.

I do NOT share or sell your email address or any of your personal information with any person and/or company.

Cookies:

Cookies collect information from your time spent on my site. They track and hold onto (for a limited amount of time) what you interact with and how you interact with on my site. Cookies also allow me to receive commissions through affiliate links that are contained in my posts. Affiliate links allow me to make this commission at no additional cost to you.

Upon first viewing my site a banner will appear that allows you to accept or decline the use of these cookies. The decision is fully yours. If you choose to decline their use it will not hinder your access to any of the content on my site.

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Comments:

All comments are reviewed prior to being published onto the site. This is to ensure that nothing inappropriate or spam related is published to the site.

As the owner of the site I, Dana Jesiolowski, reserve the right to only publish comments that are appropriate according to my personal standards and that foster a healthy community with intentional conversation.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Embedded content from other websites:

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Even though I have links to other sites and may include content from other websites, this privacy policy only pertains to your time spent on my site. Once you click on a link and go to that site you are then under that sites privacy policies.

How long I retain your data:

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
